What We Believe

Our theological beliefs form the foundation of who we are!

Core Beliefs

There is one God who exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is a sovereign, eternal, and personal being who alone possesses omniscience (He is all seeing), omnipresence (He can be in all places at once), omnipotence (He is all powerful), and immutability (He is unchanging). He also possesses the communicable attributes of grace, love, mercy, and holiness, in a perfection that humanity does not/cannot possess.
(Ephesians 4:4–6)

He is The Son of God—the eternal Second Person of the Trinity—who was present before and during creation and is responsible for creation. He has always been 100% God, and then 2,000 years ago, when the Holy Spirit placed Him in the womb of the virgin Mary, also became 100% human. Jesus possesses no sin nature, lived a sinless life, and willingly died on the cross in payment for the sins of humanity. Three days later, He bodily rose from the grave—conquering sin and death—and later ascended to heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the throne of God. He will return to earth one day to reign for a thousand years!
(Colossians 1:15–18; John 1:1–5, Hebrews 4:14–15)

Holy Spirit

He is the Third Person of the Trinity—co-equal with The Father, and The Son. He is a personal being who possesses a mind, a will, and emotions. He is responsible for the incarnation and the resurrection of Jesus. Today He seals believers for eternity, dispenses spiritual gifts, produces spiritual fruit in the believer, translates our prayers to the Father, convicts us of sin, and helps mold us into the image of Christ.
(2 Corinthians 3:17, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:25)

Humanity is God’s most beloved creation. We are valuable because He loves us and because we are created in His image. Because of this, every person has potential for good, but that potential is flawed by a sin nature that is passed down to all of us at birth. This sin nature separates us from God eternally if we do not accept God’s salvation offer through Christ.
(Romans 3:23)

There is one path to eternal life—it is not good works, enlightenment, or reincarnation. It is a personal belief in the person and the work of Jesus and repentance of our sin. (Grace through faith). Authentic faith in Christ results in eternal security. Baptism by immersion in water, which is a beautiful symbol of the death and resurrection of Jesus and His cleansing power, is necessary for church membership, but not for salvation.
(Romans 6:23)

God created Man to exist forever. After physical death, each person’s soul will translate immediately to either Heaven or Hell. Heaven which is eternal unity with Christ—and Hell—which is eternal separation from Christ—are real places. (Revelation 20:15) The Bible—is the divinely inspired word of God, communicated through multiple human authors, spanning centuries, who were guided by the Holy Spirit and protected from error in writing. The Bible has been miraculously well preserved through the many iterations of translations and copies down through history and is completely reliable in its spiritual and historical message! Its primary purpose is to reveal God’s salvation plan for mankind through the person and work of Jesus.
(2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5, 2 Peter 1:20–21, Hebrews 4:12)

The Church

The Church (Big C) consists of all authentic believers in Christ around the world and throughout history. The church (little c) is a local body of believers committed to glorifying Christ by obeying His commands, living out His teachings, sharing His message, and living in unity.
(Matthew 16:18–19, Acts 2:41–47)
