How it all started
In August of 1970, the Mecklenburg Baptist Association purchased nine acres of land on Sharon Road with the intentions of starting a mission. The first Sunday service was held on May 16,1971, as group of 16 adults and 11 children met in the property's farmhouse that had been converted into a chapel. This building took the name Warren Chapel after the church's first interim mission pastor Dr. C.C. Warren.
Taking the name Sharon Baptist Church in September of 1973, the church grew from 158 charter members to 223 members the following April.

Expanding the vision
A Finance and Long Range Planning Committee was quickly formed to organize expansion plans for the property. Phase 1 began construction for the current buildings in April 1975, and Phase 2 was underway by 1988. This created a 10,000 sq. ft. space where the pre-school program and the music program were united to create Sharon Baptist Weekday School.
Where we are headed
Dr. Robbie Page was called to Sharon Baptist on October 5 , 2002. Together with our leadership team, he seeks to help continue building a community of believers who worship God and serve others.
Acting as faithful stewards of the Lord's resources, we desire to continue expanding our church and Weekday School so as to share the good news of Jesus Christ and his salvation with those in the South Charlotte community and around the world.
