Enrichment Opportunities

In addition to our regular curriculum and classroom activities, we are pleased to offer our WDS children these other learning experiences:

Chapel - Every other week, our preschoolers gather for Chapel in the church sanctuary where they are taught the love of Christ through Bible stories and biblical concepts in an engaging and child-friendly manner.

Music - All of our age groups enjoy a weekly music class. Led by our Music teacher, the children sing, move and learn about basic music concepts. The children present a Christmas program before holiday break. Also, our TK students perform during their graduation ceremony.

My Gym - Every other week, we will be offering a structured motor skills program through My Gym. The instructors from My Gym also provide teachers practice skills to implement for the alternate weeks.

Special Guests - Our desire is to help educate your child in a broad curricular spectrum. For this reason, we invite special guests throughout the year to visit SBWS. A sampling of our guests in the past have included The “World in our Backyard” during the month of November, a dental health professional during Children’s Dental Health Month, and a professional storyteller who introduces Children’s Literature in an interactive and creative format to name a few. We strive to look for new and innovative methods with which to engage your child.

Handwriting Without Tears - Introduced in our 3 year old classes, this fine motor skill curriculum is taught in our 4 year old classes and TK in preparation for Kindergarten.
