North Carolina is my home state, but I spent my first 17 years in Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee. I have been the Senior Pastor of Sharon Baptist since 2006 and have made biblical exposition a focus of my teaching ministry. My wife Shelle Lynn Rice and I have three children: Greyson, Hudson and Harper. When I am not studying or in the office, you’ll find me swimming laps, enjoying family time and cheering enthusiastically for the Clemson Tigers in every sport (Go Tigers!… 2016 National Football Champions)

I grew up in a small town in northern Virginia, Lovettsville (we didn’t even have a traffic light). I graduated from Loudoun Valley High School. My wife Kristen and I have lived in Charlotte since 2006 and have three crazy boys and one sweet baby girl. Our family enjoys an active lifestyle #F3metro, the outdoors #getoutside, traveling #adventure, and good food with good company #fellowship. We’d be delighted to invite you for dinner, but you’d probably never recover nor return. We host international students and are known in our neighborhood and among friends for our open door policy. Kristen and I own and operate a couple of local children-focused businesses in the South Park area where we are passionate about coaching and mentoring young leaders.

I have lived in the Charlotte area for 29 years and have been a member of Sharon Baptist Church during those years. I met my husband Robbie at SBC. We have been married for 12 years and are parents to Greyson, Hudson and Harper (the first Page female in 50 years). My undergraduate degree is Early Childhood Education and my work background has remained focused in that area. I have been the Children’s Director at SBC since 2015. It is my joy to be a part of Sharon’s ministering team, to meet families with young children in the community, to spend time getting to know them and to teach their children about Jesus.

I became the Youth Director at Sharon Baptist in March of 2015. As a member of this ministering staff, I am able to share my passion for leading, training and helping youth grow closer to Jesus. My wife Carol and I are for Charlotte and are parents to Kendall, Kirby and Hank. I coach basketball, love to hike, cherish family time, follow all University of South Carolina sports, and have been to Russia 12 times.

I grew up in Gastonia, NC and attended Ashbrook High School before going on to study Psychology at Wake Forest University. I recently joined the Sharon Baptist Church staff as the Director of Sharon
Baptist Weekday School in July of 2019. My husband, David, my son, Marshall, and I have been members of Sharon Baptist Church for the last 8 years and enjoy the fellowship, music and preaching of this special community. Before becoming the Director of the Weekday School, I worked as a Child and Family Therapist for 26 years for various settings in Connecticut, DC, Virginia and Charlotte- focusing on developmental, mental health and behavior issues. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, cooking and traveling. I am thrilled to be able to continue using my previous skills while also working to educate, nurture and share the love of Christ with our children and families.
